As much as most people would try to ignore or avoid it, death has a really important role in our life. How important this role is, could be easily showed by the cemetery of Xinpu Town where the local people have constructed beautiful temples on every grave. It's one of the most interesting cemeteries of this district. Walking around the cemetery gives you a fascinating feeling of peace and serenity.

Every temple has it's own colour and it's own special signs. They are all build against a mountain, fronting the sea. Most temples are constructed for entire families who will rest there for hundreds of years, or maybe even more.

Most of the graves look neglected or messy, but I have been told that Taiwanese people just visit their ancestors once a year. That is also the day that they will clean up the grave.
